The roll compaction process takes finely sized powders, compresses these into a solid shape which can be a flat sheet, corrugated sheet and or in stick form. This is accomplished utilizing a roll compactor. Roll compactors are similar in design to roll briquetters, however higher compaction pressure is needed as well as different product shape to produce a suitable compacted material. The compacted material is then typically reduced in size and screened to specification. Size reduction is normally accomplished with milling, crushing or granulation equipment. This granulated material is then classified via a mechanical screening system or air classification which removes the any oversize and undersize product. The finished sized product that is obtained is then sent to storage. The end product may then be shipped in bulk quantities, packaged or used in other manufacturing processes.
